It seems as if the Marketplace in Tennessee is stabilizing with news that BlueCross and BlueShield of Tennessee is reentering the Marketplace. They are the state’s largest insurance company and they are going to be available to residents in Nashville, Memphis and surrounding counties starting with the 2020 coverage year. Cigna and Oscar, which are two other insurance options are also planning on reducing costs which will help more residents afford the plans.

With BCBS reentering the marketplace, most residents of Tennessee now have 5 options for healthcare, BCBS, Bright Health, Ambetter, Cigna or Oscar. There has also been a decrease in rates across all the carriers in Tennessee which is also good news. It should be interesting to see what options are available to residents and how much the premiums will be.
