What is the Covid-19 Pandemic Health Emergency?

It is a law that was implemented in March of 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Part of that law states that all Medicaid terminations would be paused. Medicaid Terminations would remained paused until the the Covid-19 Health Emergency has ended. This is commonly referred to as “unwinding”.

 

When will I lose my medicaid coverage?

The law states that all consumers will begin receiving determination letters as early as February 1st of 2023 and terminations will begin with March 31st of 2023. The process will take about 14 months so that way each state has time to transfer each consumer.
